A differential driver (101) has a pair of output terminals connected with a pair of signal lines (102A, 102B) and outputs transmission data (TXD) while converting into a differential signal at the time of data transmission. A differential receiver has a pair of input terminals connected with the pair of signal lines (102A, 102B) and receives the differential signal transmitted to the pair of signal lines at the time of data reception and then converts the differential signal into reception data (RXD). A potential setting section (106) sets the potential in the pair of signal lines at a predetermined stable potential before the differential signal is transmitted to the pair of signal lines (102A, 102B).
