PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the type of a connected antenna (that is, whether or not it is a smart antenna or a bidirectional antenna). SOLUTION: An MPU 11 of a digital broadcast receiver includes: a first strength acquisition part 113 for functionally setting an antenna connected to an antenna part 151 in a plurality of preset directions to acquire reception strength for each set direction; and an antenna judgment part 115 for judging on the basis of the reception strength for each acquired direction whether or not the connected antenna is the smart antenna and when the antenna is judged to be the smart antenna, judging on the basis of the reception strength foe each acquired direction whether the connected antenna is a bidirectional antenna having directivity in two directions where angles made by the antennas are almost 180 degrees or a unidirectional antenna having directivity only in one direction.
