PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for detecting an abnormality of a video which cannot be detected by a normal check of an error detection code with a smaller processing amount than before. SOLUTION: This video abnormality detection device in a digital video transmission system for transmitting video data including an error detection code is provided with: an acquisition means for acquiring error detection values at corresponding positions in two video data configuring adjacent fields or adjacent frames and their arithmetic values; and a determination means for determining that an abnormality has occurred in a video when the error detection code values or arithmetic values of the two video data are matched with each other.
