PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively search for desired content without imposing a burden on users. SOLUTION: When the data of an input image as a search key is input from a PC 12, a representative color extraction part of a server 14 extracts a representative color of the input image. A tag extraction part extracts tags associated with representative colors similar to the representative color of the input image output by the representative color extraction part, from a representative color-tag DB. An image search part searches an image DB for images associated with the tags retrieved by the tag extraction part by reference to an image list table. An image selection part calculates scores indicative of the fitness of images found by the image search part for input image search results, and selects some images found by the image search part according to the calculated scores.
