PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid opening/closing assisting mechanism of a glove box capable of providing excellent operability not only when opening a lid but also when closing it. SOLUTION: The lid opening/closing assist mechanism which is provided on a side face of a glove box to assist the opening/closing operation of a lid of the glove box comprises a take-up roller 10 with a power spring 10A being taken up therearound, a winding roller 11 which is turnably arranged aside the take-up roller 10 to draw out the power spring 10A from the take-up roller 10 and wind it around an outer circumferential surface, a movable block 18 which is arranged below an intermediate part between the rollers 10, 11 and vertically movable, an upper fixed block 15 fixed above the movable block 18, a lower fixed block 16 fixed below the movable block 18, a pulling side wire 34 with one end side being fixed to the fixed part below the movable block 18 and the other end side being fixed to a lid via the movable block 18 and the lower fixed block 16, and a pulled side wire 33 with one end side being fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the winding roller 11 and the other end side being fixed to the movable block 18 via the upper fixed block 15.
