PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod on whose butt rod a plate-like reel seat is mounted stably. SOLUTION: This fishing rod on whose butt rod is mounted a reel seat which has a pair of hood portions having openings for receiving the leg of a reel and disposed at the front and rear sides of a reel-loading portion in a mutually facing state, wherein at least one of a pair of the hoods is a movable food. The reel seat has its body formed into a plate-like shape and a leg portion 15, having a circular cross section and formed integrally at both the axial direction ends of the body, and flat portions 21 that are wider than the leg portion 15, having a circular cross section are disposed in a portion on which the leg portion 15 of the butt rod is loaded.
