PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and selectively synthesizing wire-shaped silver particles having fine sizes and a high aspect ratio even if the use amount of solvent is reduced based on the additive amount of the silver compound. SOLUTION: In the method for synthesizing wire-shaped silver particles, a solution (B) at least containing an alcoholic compound, silver nitrate and polyvinyl pyrrolidone is dripped to a solution (A) containing an alcoholic compound and platinum chloride; thereby the silver nitrate is reduced; wherein the wire-shaped silver particles can be selectively obtained, even if the use amount of solvent is reduced, by synthesizing while removing nitrogen oxide by-produced during the reaction to the outside of the reaction system.
