PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for shortening a rinsing step or reducing a water resource, in a cation electrodeposition coating process. SOLUTION: In the cation electrodeposition coating process comprising an electrodeposition coating step of immersing an article to be coated in a cation electrodeposition paint and applying voltage to the article, and a rinsing step of rinsing the article having been coated in the electrodeposition coating step, the method for shortening the rinsing step or reducing the water resource includes employing a low solid content type of the cation electrodeposition paint, and also removing at least one part of the undeposited paint by swinging the article and/or changing the angle of the article before rinsing the article taken out from the electrodeposition bath.
