<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode with a conductive element not directly in contact with an electric lead wire or connector. <P>SOLUTION: A medical electrode 10 includes a first conductive polymerizable gel layer 12 for electrically coupling the electrode to a body and a flexible porous electrical conductor 14 disposed on the first gel layer 12. A second conductive polymerizable gel layer 16 is disposed on the flexible porous electrical conductor and polymerized with the first layer 12 through the porous conductor. An electrical connector 24 disposed in connect with the second gel layer 16 enables electrical connection to an outside power source, or monitoring device, and an insulative backing 22 is adhered to the second gel layer 16 to prevent inadvertent contact therewith. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
