<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device increased in rigidity and reduced in the torque of the bearings of the differential and a tandem double row angular contact ball bearing in which the differential device is properly used. <P>SOLUTION: This tandem double row angular contact ball bearing comprises a large-diameter ball group 15 interposed between the large-diameter raceway surface 11a of an inner ring 12 and the large-diameter raceway surface 13a of an outer ring 14 with a large-diameter side pitch circle diameter and a small-diameter ball group 17 interposed between the small-diameter raceway surface 11c of the inner ring 12 and the small-diameter raceway surface 13c of the outer ring 14 with a small-diameter side pitch circle diameter. An intermediate-diameter raceway surface 11b between the large-diameter raceway surface 11a and the small-diameter raceway surface 11c is formed on the inner ring 12. An intermediate-diameter raceway surface 13b between the large-diameter raceway surface 13a and the small-diameter raceway surface 13c is formed on the outer ring 14.
