PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data recording method, and an optical disk reproduction method in which various specific reproduction can be performed for an optical disk in which compressed image data is recorded and high speed retrieval operation can be performed by solving a problem that so called specific reproduction of animation recorded on an optical disk is not considered especially in a conventional technology. SOLUTION: A table for specific reproduction is recorded and a sector address is added to each sector. In the optical disk reproduction device, a sector address of the corresponding compressed image data is obtained by referring to the table for specific reproduction, the address is retrieved on the optical disk and reproduction is performed. Thereby, specific reproduction such as high speed reproduction, slow reproduction, reverse direction reproduction and retrieving operation can be performed easily. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
