PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective testing method and device to check tunneling magnetoresistive effect elements. SOLUTION: A reproduction element testing method using a tunneling magnetoresistive effect has a step of measuring the first and second resistances on different currents, a step of comparing the difference between the first and second resistances obtained from a non-defective reproduction element of the same design, the resistance difference curve calculated by using a theoretical formula of the tunneling magnetoresistivity and the voltage, and the first and second resistances measured in the above measuring step, and a step of determining that the above reproduction element is defective if the absolute value of the resistance change rate of the reproduction element is smaller than the resistance difference curve.
