The invention describes a method for providing mature dendritic cells (DCs) which is characterised by the following steps: providing a monocyte preparation, treating the monocyte preparation with a culturing mixture comprising interleukin 3 (IL-3) and interleukin 4 (IL-4) to obtain a cultured preparation comprising immature DCs, treating the cultured preparation with a maturing mixture comprising tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), interleukin 1-beta (IL-1-beta), interleukin 6 (IL-6), prostaglandin E2 (PGE-2) and a ligand for the toll-like receptor 3 (TLR-3 ligand) to obtain a preparation comprising mature dendritic cells (DCs).
