<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing plate precursor, excelling in printing durability, visibility and on-press developability by infrared-laser exposure and a lithographic printing method that uses this lithographic printing plate precursor, and to provide a new cyanine dye that can be used suitably in this lithographic printing plate precursor and a photosensitive composition. <P>SOLUTION: The photosensitive composition includes a cyanine dye that has, on a methine chain thereof, a cation moiety of an onium salt structure as a substituent.
