<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble metalworking oil which is a metalworking oil widely applicable to metalworking such as cutting, grinding, rolling, pressing and plastic working and having excellent corrosion-proof performances and to provide a method for metalworking using the metalworking oil. <P>SOLUTION: The metalworking oil comprises a morpholine compound and an isothiazoline compound.
