PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near infrared ray absorption filter for plasma display panel (PDP) which has high near infrared ray absorbing power, is excellent in transparency and durability and can be inexpensively manufactured, and to provide a PDP using the near infrared ray absorption filter. SOLUTION: The near infrared ray absorption filter for PDP which has high near infrared ray absorbing power, is excellent in transparency and durability and can be inexpensively manufactured can be obtained by dispersing tungsten oxide fine particles or/and multiple tungsten oxide fine particles, whose average dispersion particle size is≤800 nm and the dispersion assembly has the maximum of near infrared ray absorption at a wavelength in the range of 1,200 nm to 1,800 nm, in an adhesive layer or/and an external force absorbing layer in a laminate constituting the near infrared ray absorption filter for PDP.
