PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automatic train controller which can suppress a load of control pattern calculation to execute stable pattern control. SOLUTION: The automatic train controller includes: a means for calculating the speed of a travelling train and the remaining travel distance to a target stop position using location information including the target stop position and the remaining travel distance to the target stop position and a signal obtained from a speed measuring means; a means for periodically calculating a travelling speed control pattern using the speed of the travelling train, the remaining travel distance to the target stop position, speed limit information regarding the speed limitation of a train up to the target stop position, and section designation information designating a pattern generation section to be set in the direction of the stop position using as a start point the present position of the train to be a target for calculating the travelling speed control pattern in the remaining travel distance to the target stop position; and a means for outputting a brake signal to the train when the present travelling speed of the train is not the speed corresponding to the remaining travel distance provided by the travelling speed control pattern.
