PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for easily attaching/detaching and fixing a battery box by human power and a light tool in a motorized construction machine having a battery as a source of power. SOLUTION: The construction machine having an upper turning body 4 provided with a working equipment mounted thereon comprises the battery box 8 mounted on the upper turning body 4, an electric motor 13 activated by a battery housed in the battery box 8, and a hydraulic circuit having a hydraulic pump 14 as a hydraulic source driven by the electric motor 13. The construction machine further comprises link members 9 rotatably linking upper end parts of both side faces of the battery box 8 to the upper turning body 4, and a fall-preventing means for preventing abrupt fall of the battery box 8. The fall-preventing means is mounted on a rotary shaft arranged at lower ends of the link members 9 to serve as a rotation fulcrum of the link members 9, and is provided with an urging means urging the battery box 8 to move upward.
