PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a hot-rolled ferritic stainless steel strip having excellent sulfuric-acid pickling property. SOLUTION: The steel strip is formed of a ferritic stainless steel having a composition consisting of 0.001-0.03% C, 0.05-1.0% Si, 0.05-1.00% Mn,≤0.040% P,≤0.030% S, and 10-20% Cr, and as necessary, one or two or more of 0.001-0.30% Al, or 0.05-0.75% Ti,≤0.01% N or 0.05-0.75% Ni, and 0.005-0.20% Cu as selected components, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities; and≤0.35% Si if containing P of >0.025%, and≤1.0% Si if containing P of≤0.025% P. The winding temperature after the hot rolling is set to be 700-880°C, and the steel strip is subjected to the mechanical descaling, and immersed and pickled in a sulfuric acid solution of 100-400 g/L for 60-170 seconds.
