PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curative agent for non-inflammatory pain diseases containing sialic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as active ingredient. SOLUTION: The pain disease curative agent with sialic acid as the active ingredient is provided, wherein the sialic acid exhibits analgesic activity on a pathologic condition model animal with the condition of neurogenic pain as a non-inflammatory pain. Therefore, this curative agent is useful for treating non-inflammatory pain diseases including neurogenic pain diseases such as trigeminal neuralgia, postherpetic neuralgia, entrapment neuropathy, complex local pain syndrome, diabetic neuropathy, neuropathy responsible for externally caused injury, phantom limb pain, central pain after spinal cord injury or stroke, and neuropathy responsible for drug therapeutics or radiotherapy.
