<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte fuel cell, and its manufacturing method capable of stably providing a high power generation performance within a temperature range from high to low temperature as well as under an environment from high to low humidification. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer electrolyte fuel cell 1 comprises a membrane electrode junction 5 where a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 30 is arranged between an anode 20 having a catalyst layer 22 and a cathode 10 having a catalyst layer 12, and a channel 82a in which the gas containing oxygen flows along the surface of the cathode 10. In the polymer electrolyte fuel cell 1, the ion-exchange capacity of ion-exchange resin contained in the catalyst layer 12 of the cathode 10 contacting an entrance of the channel 82a is higher than that of the ion-exchange resin contained in the catalyst layer 12 of the cathode 10 contacting to the outlet of the channel 82a. Further, the 90° peel strength of the interface between at least one of the anode 20 and cathode 10 and the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 30 is 0.1 N/cm or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
