PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate mistakes of a section to input an article and the number of articles to input, in an article sorting device. SOLUTION: The article sorting device is provided with a cart 40 loaded with articles 84 to be sorted and an article sorting shelf 60 separated into a plurality of sections 70 wherein an opening and closing door 72 for a section opens only when the cart specified to input an article to the section approaches to the section. In the article sorting device, the cart is provided with an electronic scale 41 for measuring total weight of loaded articles, a touch panel display 44 for displaying the number of articles to be input to the section and a cart computer 43 for opening the opening and closing door of the section when the cart computer comes in front of the section specified to input the articles, displaying the number of articles to input to the section on the touch panel display, monitoring change of total weight of the articles measured by the electronic scale to detect whether the number of input articles is equal to the specified number or not and, if the input articles and the number of the articles are wrong, issuing an alarm.
