PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing base material having a high contrast pattern of water-repellant region, and to provide a production method of the base material. SOLUTION: The processing base material having a water-repellant region on the surface of the base material is provided, wherein the water-repellant region comprises a water-repellant film obtained by curing a curable composition comprising a hydrolysis condensation product of a hydrolyzable silane compound, which contains a hydrolyzable silane compound comprising a silicon atom bonded with a fluorine-containing organic group and three hydrolyzable groups, with a compound having (meth)acryloyl group. And the production method of the processing base material comprises a step for forming on the base material a coating film comprising the curable compound, a step for forming a water-repellant cured film by curing the curable composition of a light irradiated part by irradiating light on a part of the coating film surface and a step for removing the uncured curable composition existing on the surface of the base material.
