PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having inhibitory action on Na<SP>+</SP>/Ca<SP>2+</SP>exchangers and useful as a medicine. SOLUTION: The compound is a butoxyaniline derivative represented by general formula (I) (wherein, Ar is a phenyl or an aromatic heterocyclic group; D is a single bond or a methylene; R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group or the like; R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each a hydrogen atom or joined together to form -(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB>-; R<SP>4</SP>is a halogen atom, a cyan group, a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy group; and a dotted line denotes a double or triple bond).
