A method and a system for P2P(Peer-to-Peer) datacasting in a broadcasting network are provided to share a software object by broadcast client devices instead of broadcasting from a carousel server. A node receives a request for a software object of the latest version from a child node(910), and checks whether it has the software object of the latest version(920). If the node does not have the software object of the latest version, it entrusts the request to a parent node(930). The parent node checks whether it has the software object of the latest version, and if not, it entrusts the request to a source. The source provides the requested software object to the parent node, and the parent node forwards it to the node. The node receives and stores the requested latest version(940). The node forwards the software object of the latest version to the child node(950). The child node updates an old version with the latest version(960).
