<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for predicting and adjusting nitrogen concentration in a flow shifting fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: Breed valves 3500A, B hydraulically connected with a plurality of fuel cell stacks 3000A, B are used for reducing an existence of nitrogen in an anode passage 3400. One or a plurality of sensors can be used for measuring a voltage in one or both fuel cell stacks. A fuel cell voltage variation in the anode passage is assessed and such a variation is regarded as equivalent to a nitrogen content accumulation and in the system, the breed valves can be operated at a suitable timing so that the system operability can be improved. In an example that the assessed voltage variation is regarded as equivalent to a nitrogen content accumulation, an assessed voltage can be compared by using a prediction algorithm by a logic device inside a control unit, and as a result, the control unit instructs the breed valve of an open-close timing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
