OPTICAL ELEMENT FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING HOLOGRAM, AND HOLOGRAM RECORDING AND REPRODUCING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element for recording and reproducing a hologram, capable of easily achieving the high recording density of a hologram while comparatively simplifying the configuration of an optical system.

SOLUTION: The optical element includes: relay lenses 7A and 7B for transmitting recording light having passed through a spatial optical modulator 5; and an objective lens 8 for condensing and guiding the recording light from the relay lenses 7A and 7B to a hologram recording medium; wherein the reproducing light from the hologram recording medium is transmitted in a direction opposite from that of the recording light during the reproduction. The optical element is configured in such a manner that when the recording light as a collimated luminous flux composed of an axial luminous flux S1 and an off-axis luminous flux S2 is made incident on the relay lens 7A, the off-axis luminous flux S2 among the recording light emitted from the relay lens 7B comes closer to the optical axis as it comes closer to the objective lens 8.
