PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter device for an air conditioner excellent in maintainability. SOLUTION: The filter device for the air conditioner comprises: an air filter 2 collecting dust included in air which passes through a heat exchanger (not shown in the figure); a removing member 14 removing dust collected by the air filter 2; a dust storage part 10 for storing the dust removed by the removing member; a suction device (not shown in the figure) communicating with the dust storage part 10; and a wire (not shown in the figure) for driving the air filter 2. The dust sticking to the air filter 2 is scraped off by the removing member 14, collected into the dust storage part 10, and simultaneously sucked by the suction device so as to be collectable into a separately provided dust collector or to be dischargeable outdoors.
