PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a second liquid for use as a liquid for a liquid lens, the second liquid being used together with a conductive solution, which is a first liquid, and serving to form a boundary surface by being separated from the first liquid. SOLUTION: The liquid for the liquid lens contains alkyl naphthalene or the like. As the alkyl group of the alkyl naphthalene or the like used as the second liquid for the liquid for the liquid lens, an alkyl group having one to four carbon atoms is preferable. If the number of carbon atoms is greater than five, refractive index decreases and the liquid becomes solid at use temperatures.
