PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for correcting a facial area of an image. SOLUTION: Image data is received, including data indicating at least one facial area. Facial area image data indicating the facial area is separated from the received overall image. Brightness data and chrominance data corresponding the facial area image data indicating the facial area is generated. A smoothing algorithm is applied to the generated brightness data to generate smoothed brightness data. Mapping data of non-skin color areas having no skin color in the image corresponding to the image data is generated.
