PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for a user to recognize in advance that a timeout occurs in near future, thereby preventing rework due to the timeout. SOLUTION: In an Internet system in which a client having a browser transmits processing request information to a server via the Internet, and successively refers to and obtains information processed by the above server via the browser, the server is provided in advance with timer supervision program information by which time is to be supervised on the client side. When transmitting the above processed information to the client, the server adds the above time supervision program information. The client hands over to the browser the received information after processing and the timer supervision program information. The browser executes the timer supervision program from a time point at which the above processed information is received. If predetermined processing does not complete before the lapse of the specified timeout time, a warning message is displayed by the above timer supervision processing information.
