PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and thin imaging optical system or the like. SOLUTION: In the imaging optical system having a positive lens group, a negative lens group and a diaphragm, the negative lens group is arranged on the image side of the diaphragm, and has a cemented lens constituted by cementing a plurality of lenses. When setting a straight line expressed byθgF=α×νd+β(providedα=-0.00163) in a rectangular coordinate system having a horizontal axisνd and a vertical axisθgF,θgF andνd of at least one lens constituting the cemented lens are included in both an area determined by a straight line showing a lower limit and a straight line showing an upper limit in the range of a conditional expression (1): 0.6400<β<0.9000 and an area determined by a conditional expression (2): 3<νd<50.
