PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate sense of congruity in visual perception even when a striped scar inflicted by a leading tip or end tip of a sheet on a heating rotating body becomes a scar transfer stripe in a toner image. SOLUTION: A fixing unit has a mold release layer formed on its surface and a heating rotating body 2, wherein the toner image on recording material is heated at a nip part. The mold release layer 1c has a Young's modulus of 10-1,000 Mpa, and many grooves 1d with a depth of 0.3-0.5μm are formed on the surface, along rotating axial line direction so that the density in its rotating direction is 5-100 pieces/mm.
