PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move a vehicle to a safer place even when starting failure is caused in an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This automobile has a clutch capable of the connection and its release of an output shaft of an engine and the axle side. When an automatic starting condition is realized, the engine and a starter motor are controlled so as to be started by motoring the engine in a clutch OFF state (S100, and S110), and a complete explosion of the engine is determined by whether or not a state of an engine speed Ne being a predetermined engine speed Nfire or more, has continued for a predetermined time T1 (S120 to S140), and motoring of the engine is stopped when a predetermined time T2 has passed while the complete explosion has not yet determined, and starting failure time control for turning on the clutch is performed after stopping the engine (S160 to S200).
