PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silencer which is set on an upper portion of a soundproof wall or the like, can capture noise sound wave reaching from a noise source without depending on a diffracting phenomenon, and makes effective use of a sound absorbing material to a possible extent, to thereby improve the silencing effect thereof. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the silencer, a sound collecting horn 3 which is opened toward the noise source is mounted on a silencing chamber 4 which is set up by accommodating the sound absorbing material inside a housing case 5, and fixed in a main casing 2 such that a central axis extending through the center of the silencing chamber 4 is inclined with respect to a depth direction of the silencing device. Then the entire body of the sound collecting horn 3 is curved, and a plurality of structures which are each obtained by combining the sound collecting horn 3 and the silencing chamber 4 together, are stacked on each other in the vertical direction of the silencing device.
