PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a potential treatment apparatus which is hardly affected by its installation environment. SOLUTION: The potential treatment apparatus includes a chair 2 having a main electrode, back plates 3 each having a counter electrode and arranged independently of the chair 2, and a high voltage generation unit 4 for applying high voltage to the main electrode. By applying high voltage to the electrodes using the high voltage generation unit 4, an electric field is generated around the body of a treated person C sitting on the chair 2.
