PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of an air block even in the tube of a narrow diameter, to surely guide bubbles from a bubble discharge port to a bubble detector to detect them. SOLUTION: The extracorporeal circulation apparatus comprises: a bubble capturing apparatus 2 provided with an inflow port 34 connected to the upstream side of a blood circuit and an outflow port 35 connected to the downstream side, for capturing bubbles in blood, performing gas-liquid separation and discharging them from a bubble discharge port 36; a recirculation line 3 forming a recirculation circuit coming out from the bubble discharge port and returning to the inflow port; a bubble detector 4 arranged near the bubble discharge port; a bubble discharge line 6 branched from a part on the downstream side of the bubble detector; a bubble discharge device connected to the downstream end of the bubble discharge line; and an opening/closing part 5 for opening/closing the flow path of the bubble discharge line. The flow path of the bubble discharge line is closed by the opening/closing part when the bubble detector does not detect the bubbles, and the flow path of the bubble discharge line is opened by the opening/closing part when it detects the bubbles.
