Disclosed are a method for providing a call waiting service and a system thereof. An operation method of a terminal for providing a call waiting service includes a step of generating a state window in at least part of the screen of the terminal, a step of outputting information on a second call in the state window when the second call is received while a call according to the first call is connected, and a step of changing the call into the second call, in response to an user input for changing the call. So, the use convenience of a user can be improved.
