A scan system and a scan method using the scan system are provided to receive a scanned image or document even though an account user who will receive image or document data logs out. A scan system includes a scanner(50), a host computer(60) having a plurality of accounts, a display(30), a first controller(37), a temporary storage unit(45), a main storage unit(44), and a second controller(41). The display is included in the scanner and displays the accounts when a scan command is inputted. The first controller is included in the scanner and transmits information on a selected account and a scan file to the host computer when the account is selected from the plurality of accounts. The temporary storage unit and the main storage unit are included in the host computer. The second controller is included in the host computer, stores the scan file in the main storage unit when the transmitted account corresponds to log-in and stores the scan file in the temporary storage unit when the transmitted account corresponds to log-out.
