A phosphor for a plasma display panel is provided to ensure reduced brightness saturation while retaining excellent brightness and color purity characteristics. A phosphor for a plasma display panel comprises: a first phosphor represented by the formula 1 of (Y_(1-x-y)Gd_xTb_y)Al_rQ_(3-r)(BO_3)_4, wherein 0<x<=1, 0<y<=1, Q is Sc, In, or Ga, and 0<=r<=3; and a second phosphor which is at least one selected from a phosphor represented by the formula 2A of BaMgAl_10O_17:Mn or formula 2B of BaMgAl_12O_19:Mn, a phosphor represented by the formula 3 of Li_2Zn(Ge,theta)_zO_8:Mn(wherein, theta=Al or Ga, and 3<=z<=4), and a phosphor represented by the formula 4 of Zn_2SiO_4:Mn.
