1. A downhole fluid comprising:
an amphiphilic nanoparticle, comprising a hydrophilic region comprising a hydrophilic functional group bonded to a first portion of a surface of the nanoparticle, and a hydrophobic region comprising a hydrophobic functional group bonded directly to a second portion of a surface of the nanoparticle by a carbon-carbon bond without intervening heteroatoms; and a fluid medium comprising brine and hydrochloric acid, wherein the second portion is not the same as the first portion; and wherein the degree of functionalization is from one functional group for each five carbon centers to one functional group for every 100 carbon centers. |
