PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost constant velocity universal joint capable of assuring a more sealing characteristic of a boot having a simple structure.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a constant velocity universal joint comprising a cup-like outer joint member having an opening part at one end and an inner joint member for transmitting a torque while allowing an angular displacement through a torque transmitting member between itself and the outer joint member in which a small diameter end part 62 of a boot 60 for closing an opening part of the outer joint member is fastened and fixed to a fixing member 51 of a shaft 50, there are provided a stepped part 53 formed at an end part of the fixing member 51 of the shaft 50, having a larger diameter than that of the fixing member 51 and having a raised plane 52 between it and the fixing member 51, a recess part 54 formed at the raised plane 52 of the stepped part 53 along a circumferential direction and a salient 64 formed at the small diameter end part 62 of the boot 60 along the circumferential direction, the small diameter end part 62 of the boot 60 is abutted against the raised plane 52 of the stepped part 53 and at the same time the salient 64 of the boot 60 is fitted into the recess part 54 of the raised plane 52.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
