PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cane that can be extended to a desired length in a single operation and returned to the original length and that is contrived to have light weight with a simple structure.SOLUTION: The cane body 102 includes: a first pipe 7 that is connected to a grip part 1; a second pipe 6 that is connected to a ground part 104 and that slides the outside of the first pipe 7; a chuck 13 that radially expands or contracts in the surface or the end of the first pipe 7; an engaging part 4 that is installed in the second pipe 6 to engage with a restraining part 13; and a knock bar 11 that is inserted in the first pipe 7 and that is connected to a button 3 with both ends installed in the grip part 1 and to the restraining part 13.
