METHOD FOR DISPLAYING CURRENT POSITION OF VEHICLE IN NAVIGATION SYSTEM

A method for displaying a present position of a vehicle in navigation system is provided to correct the present position of the vehicle as an exit position of a building of shielding the reception of a navigation message to exactly display the present position of the vehicle. It is determined if a vehicle goes into a building in which a message is not received by a GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver(S210,S212). It is determined if the vehicle comes out of the building when the vehicle has gone into the building(S222,S224). Coordinates of an exit of the building stored in a map data storing unit are corrected based on the present position of the vehicle(S226). The present position is matched with map data stored in the map data storing unit to display the vehicle on a display unit(S228).
