In order to suppress air-conditioned air from reaching the vicinity of an infrared sensor, an indoor unit 1 for an air conditioner comprises: a main body 2 having a suction inlet 22 provided in an upper section thereof, an air outlet 23 provided in a lower section of the front surface thereof, and a heat exchanger and a fan that are arranged internally; left and right airflow direction plates 7a, 7b arranged in the air outlet 23 and capable of changing the direction of air from the air outlet 23, to the left and right; upper and lower airflow direction plates 8a, 8b arranged in the air outlet 23 and capable of changing the direction of air from the air outlet 23, up and down; an infrared sensor 35 arranged adjacent to the left/right end of the air outlet 23 in the main body 2, said end being an end section in either the left or right direction in the front surface of the main body 2; a large rectifying plate 41, a small rectifying plate 43, and an upper rectifying plate 42, that rectify air from the air outlet 23 and are arranged between the infrared sensor 35 and an end section of the left and right airflow direction plate 7b on the side that the infrared sensor 35 is arranged. |
