The sealant (1) has a longitudinally stretched carrier (2) made of hard plastic and a longitudinally stretched sealing lip (3) made of soft plastic, where the sealing lip is formed along a boundary surface at the carrier such that the sealing lip and the carrier are connected with each other in a form-fitted manner using a closed material loop. The boundary surface has a stepped contour in the cross section, so that an overlapping area is formed between the carrier and the lip, where the carrier and the lip overlap in the overlapping area. The carrier consists of polyoxymethylene.
