<p>The unit (SCU) has a cryptography module connected to a communication network and with which cryptographic codes are generated, stored, managed or processed. A coordination module is provided for the coordination of individual modules within the security unit, where the cryptography module generates cryptographic codes in the form of symmetrical or asymmetrical codes or data received from another module via an interface. A programming module is provided for programming the security unit or the modules of the security unit. An independent claim is also included for a security unit and a vehicle combination.</p>
