Apparatus for forming logs of web material and log manufacturing process

A log multiprocessing apparatus winds a web material (W) around a winding core (C2) to form a log (L1). Once the log (L1) is about to be completed, the web material (W) is severed to form a tail of the log (L1), and a pattern including at least one glue layer is applied on the tail of the log (L1). The log (L1) then is decelerated and the tail is pressed on the log (L1) to form a final sealed log (L1) of web material (W).
