A control device that controls a vehicle drive device in which a first engagement device, a rotating electrical machine, a second engagement device, and an output member are sequentially arranged in this order from an input member side on a power transmission path that connects the input member drivingly coupled to an internal combustion engine to the output member drivingly coupled to wheels. The control device controls both the first engagement device and the second engagement device to a slip engaged state, and causes the rotating electrical machine to generate electric power.

the control device executes a slip drive mode in order to control both the first engagement device and the second engagement device to a slip engaged state, and to control a rotational speed of the rotating electrical machine to a value that is lower than a rotational speed of the input member and higher than a rotational speed of the output member, and the control device executes the slip drive mode when a current vehicle required force that is required in order to cause the vehicle to travel is increased in a state in which the input member is drivingly coupled to the internal combustion engine, the first engagement device is in a direct-coupling engaged state and the second engagement device is in a disengaged state.
