The hollow central region 350 is generally enclosed on two sides by two enclosing formations 370. Furthermore, at least a part of the hollow central region 350 is open, that is to say not enclosed. The cross-sectional configuration of the sealing element 300 is such that, in use, when a force is applied to the contact surface 360, the sealing element 300 deforms in such a manner that the enclosing formations are predisposed to move generally away from one another. |
